Fracture(d) – v: figurative, to split or to fragment so as to no longer function or exist. Every day we are faced with the potential of disconnect – the fracturing of our physical, emotional, psychological and interpersonal worlds. The exhibit Fracture(d) is centered around our responses visually to the divides that we have experienced within and around ourselves.
After opening night, Art7 will be open Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The showing of “fracture(d)” runs through April 25th. The Fort Worth Community Arts Center will operate Art7 as a satellite gallery going forward.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring an exciting new art element to the West 7th’s already vibrant scene,” said Jody Ulich, president of Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. “We look forward to inviting the community down to Art7 to interact with artists, explore new art and discover something new!”
“Since West 7th is located in the heart of the Cultural District – which abounds with world class museums and performance venues – it makes sense that we embrace this theme in our own center,” shared Angela Dupont, West 7th director of marketing. “We feature local musicians with our live music series three nights a week and now can showcase local artists with this night gallery.”
In honor of Art7’s opening, West 7th will be hosting three complimentary art events throughout the spring, culminating with its largest art celebration:
“pARTy on Crockett” – on Saturday, June 21.
Thursday, April 17 from 6-9 p.m.
Featuring live music, restaurant specials and a wine walk, where guests can purchase a commemorative glass that provides them with wine at participating retailers along with drink specials at the June 21 event. More than a dozen artisans will be showcased, including:
